Mexico City Starbucks Shootout Cause One Dead And Two Injured





Three gunmen gunned down a former police chief while inside a Starbucks in Mexico City on Tuesday. Two other people were also wounded according to the authorities.

The city’s Attorney General’s Office said that three gunmen shot the former police chief at about 11:30 a.m and wounded a man and a woman.

Public Security officials had identified the dead man as Edgar Bayardo del Villar. However, there was not substantial evidence that he worked as a police chief previously.

Local media reported that Edgar Bayardo was fired as a police chief officer because he took bribes from a drug cartel. Recently Edgar had been working with a witness protection program to arrest corrupt government officials.

Reformed daily said that Edgar Bayardo was living in the United States under the protection of US Drug Enforcement Administrations. Recently, he returned to mexico to testify a drug trafficking trial.

In Tijuana 34 police cars were set on fire by several men who enter into the police parking lot by knocking down the security guard unconscious.
