During a demonstration on Saturday, anti-capitalism protestors had smashed the windows of banks, shops and cafes in the city center of Geneva. The protestors also had set the cars on hire.
The protestors include the unions and Switzerland’s Green Party have started to riot to protest against the three day WTO conference which commence on Monday.
Four cars were burned down by the protestors. As a result, the police had used tear gas to dismiss the violent protestors. The police statement said that no one was injured during the riot.
The WTO’s lake side headquarters are being blocked by the police because protestors planned to pass through it.
