The world’s second largest pear is a brain-shaped pearl. The pearl is now up for sale at the auction in Los Angeles on December 6. The pearl is expected to be auctioned for 250,000 pounds.
The pearl weights 2.25 kg and measures 15 cm across. The pear looks like a human brain. Mitch Jacubovic, the director of gemologists at the European Gem Laboratories USA said that the pearl is a once in a lifetime treasure.
He also said that the pearl was the biggest he had ever seen anywhere. The pearl was discovered under the waters of the ocean in Philippines. The pearl will be auctioned at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles where several giant clam shell was formed.
