June 6 2010 – Today is the 66th Anniversary of D-day (D’day or D day). D-Day is a military term, where the U.S Army was the first to use this term, which means to denote the day upon which a combat attack or operation is to be initiated.
June 6, 1944 – the day of Normandy landings (the landing operations of the Allied invasion of Normandy, also known as the Operation Neptune and Operation Overlord during World War II). More than 425,000 Allied and German troops died during the battle of Normandy in France, which began with the Allied invasion of Normandy, that is begin to known as the “day of days” or D-day. The town that is said the highest number of deaths on D-Day of any American community, in proportion to its population is Bedford.
