At least 33 people had died due to the overloading of a ferry from Bangladesh. The ferry was sending the people home to celebrate a Muslim holiday. Following the ferry accident, rescue workers attempted to search for survivors.
The relatives of those who had died crowded the banks of the river Tentulia located south of Nazirpur. They watch desperately as rescue workers dived into the river to search for victims.
The police Chief Zakir Hossain told AFP that they have found 33 bodies and they believe they are many people that are trapped in the cabins under water. Among the 33 who are dead include 17 children and 10 women.
