Polar Bear with scientific name “ursus maritimus” is a native bear found in the Arctic circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean. Polar Bear is the world’s largest land carnivore and also the largest bear in the planet. This bear grows at approximately 350–680 kg (770–1,500 lb) for the male and 175-340 Kg (385-750 lb) in female. This specie of bear are born on land but spends most of its time at sea, hence its scientific name meaning “maritime bear”. They hunt their food from sea ice and would stay at the frozen sea mostly during the year.
Churchill Manitoba is the place wherein most polar bear is seen most especially during the icy season. Manitoba is also known as the world’s “Polar Bear” Capital. This place is also center of the ecotourism in the Northern Americas.
