What do people usually give or receive on Valentines day?
Valentines day is a very special day for two lovers. Commonly, people give chocolate and roses during this day. Some go on picnic to celebrate this holiday. Some may just send lovely and romantic messages to their love ones. Message through mail, email, text messaging or any kind.
Valentines day started AD 496 when Pope Gelasius established the said holiday to honor Saint Valentine for doing goodness and showing love and affection to others most especially to his love ones. The annual celebration became a custom and the giving of flowers, greeting cards and offering confectionery become the highlight of the celebration.
At our time, the celebration is symbolized by a heart-shaped outline, doves and the figure of the winged cupid.
