Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid made an apology regarding a racist comment on President Barack Obama. Barack Obama is the first African American president in the United States.
In the Harry Reid’s racist comment, he described Obama as an African American with light screen and no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one. Harry Reid had apologized for the poor choice of words. He sincerely offered up his apology to African Americans for the racist comment he had made on Barack Obama.
Obama forgave Harry Reid and said, “As far as I am concerned, the book is closed.”
Reid had apologized to a number of prominent African American including Jim Clyburn, Barbara Lee of California, Reverend Al Sharpton. Donna Brazile, Julian Bond and Wade Henderson.
Harry Red’s 2008 comments can be found in the book called “Game Change” authored by mark Halperin and John Heilemann. Mark haperin is a journalist from Time’s magazine and John Heilemann is a journalist in New York’s magazine. The book is based on the writers’ interviews and research with over two hundred sources.
