The princess of Egypt’s last king, Princess Ferial had passed away and was buried in a Cairo mosque. It was a low key funeral which was attended by family and friends on Tuesday.
The Egyptian princess suffered from stomach cancer for a long period before she died in a Geneva hospital.
Princess Feira was born in Alexandria, a Mediterranean city. She was the daughter of the last Egypt’s king called King Farouk. King Farouk was king over Egypt from 1936 to 1952.
Princess Feira was survived by his half brother Ahmed Fouad. Ahmed Fouad attended Princess Ferial’s funeral in the Rifai mosque where the royal family members were buried.
Princess Ferial was the oldest child of King Farouk. She lived in Switzerland until the time of her death. The dynasty reign span over one hundred fifty years until the 1952 revolution. When King Farouk was abdicated, his infant son Fouad proceed to replace his father as the king. However, he joined his father in exile when a republic was declared in the following year.
