According to the Morrocan government official, the three Spanish aid workers that were kidnapped by Al Qaeda militants were not freed yet.
The Morrocan government official told AFP that the information is just a pure speculation. He also rejected the comments from the Morrocan security source that said the hostages were being left behind by their kidnappers in the Aguouimite region. The Aguouimite region is a buffer zone situated between northern Mauritanian and southern Western Sahara.
The three Spanish aid workers include two men and a women. They were traveling in a procession of land vehicles disguised as someone delivering humanitarian aid to west Africa. While they were travelling, a group of people kidnapped them.
The three Spanish volunteers are Albert Vilalta, who is 35 years old; Alicia Gamez who is 35 years old and Roque Pascual who is 50 years old.
Spanish Interior Minister Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba said that the north Africa Al-Qaeda branch is suspected to commit the abductions.
