Morocco Government Has No Contact With Spanish Hostages





Spanish authorities had no contact with the hostages who were kidnapped by Al Qaeda militants

Ambassador Alonso Dezcallar y Mazarredo said that he had nothing to comment on the reports concerning the hostages were discovered near Nouakchott on Tuesday.

There are different reports from Morroco that claimed that the three hostages were kidnapped by the extreme Al-Qaeda Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). AQIM is the North African branch of Osama bin Laden’s Islamist network.

The ambassador told the press conference that they cannot confirm that the three hostages are still in captivity or already freed because they are no evidence yet.

The diplomat who was responsible of finding the three hostages refused to provide insights because he fear that this may endanger the lives of the volunteers.

Dezcallar y Mazarredo said that the primary aim of the search is to rescue the there hostages and bring them back alive from the Al Qaeda kidnappers.
